- Once you are done with making Dynamic DNS account and setting up your hard disk, you can access your disk from anywhere in the world by going to URL ftp://yourname.mynetgear.com.
your name here is the name that you will use to setup the Dynamic DNS account.
Netgear Technical Support recommends you to use this feature only if you really need this feature. Do not set it up if you don’t need this as attackers may be able to access your disk over the internet.
Also note that your router must have a direct access to the Internet for FTP server to work.
This will not work with different router giving internet access to the router with which the hard-disk is connected.
