Adding an existing user as a Secondary Member of the admin group

1. From the Admin Page, click Accounts > Groups.
2. Click on the admin group, then click Settings.
3. Check the box on any user you would like to add to the admin group, then click Apply.

Changing a user’s existing Primary group to admin

1. From the Admin Page, click Accounts > Users.
2. Click on a user you want to edit, then click Settings.
3. Click the Groups tab, then change the Primary Group to admin, then click Apply.

Creating a new user with Primary admin group

1. From the Admin Page, click Accounts > Users.
2. Click New User. A dialog window appears.
3. Enter all new user details on the Properties tab, then click the Groups tab.
4. Change the Primary Group to admin, then click Apply.

ReadyNAS OS 6.8 offers an enhanced SMB experience for macOS users.  These enhancements resolve complaints regarding slow loading of directories with a large amount of files over SMB.

Enabling macOS SMB Enhancements

1. From the Admin Page, click System > Settings.
2. Under Services, click SMB. A dialog windows appears.
3. Check the box on Enhance MacOS, then click Apply. This change takes place immediately.

Disabling macOS SMB Enhancements

1. From the Admin Page, click System > Settings.
2. Under Services, click SMB. A dialog windows appears.
3. Uncheck the box on Enhance MacOS, then click Apply. This change takes place immediately.
