Mapping a drive on your Linksys smart Wi-Fi router

PREMIUM TECH SUPPORT COMPANY

Mapping a drive is how an operating system associates a local drive with a shared storage area to another computer on a network. After drive mapping, a software application on a client’s computer can read and write files from the shared storage area by accessing that drive. The USB Storage Tool on the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router will enable you to have file-sharing capabilities within your network.

Linksys Router Support suggests you to keep these points in mind:

  • Ensure that you have already identified your drive’s IP address before mapping. Default IP address is 192.168.1.1.
  • If you are using a wireless computer, make sure that you are connected to the main wireless network (not on a guest network) in order to access USB storage.

This Linksys Router Support article will guide you to map a drive on your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router on different operating systems.
